Psychology Questions and Answers (Q&A)

Sometimes, domestic abuse is seen in hospitals. It seems that abusers would only abuse in their own home, but sometimes abusers get cocky and think they can get away with abusing their wife or girlfriend in public. Nurses will most likely witness either the abuse itself or the aftermath of the victim/patient being upset or injured. Nurses should report this action even if they are not sure about what has happened. It is better to be safe than sorry.

When a spouse says that her spouse is a mean person, then that is not a normal reaction. Plus, the patient is crying which is also a red flag. If the nurse sees this behavior, she should use the call system to request assistance.

There are many jobs that people enjoy doing, but they cause a lot of stress. In modern days, most jobs are requiring a lot more than in the past. Back in the olden days, time was easy and jobs were not stressful. However, today people must meet deadlines and pass tests. Plus, they must see certain results that may seem out of their control. This now causes a lot of stress for people.

Many employees take work home to try to get ahead or merely try to stay on top of things without getting disciplined or risk losing their job. There are stress management jobs that show techniques that people can use to lessen the stress on the job. A nurse may advise stressed clients on where they can take these classes.

The answer to this is C. There is a need for the patient to understand why isolation should take place. There are a lot of patients who will not react well to this because they do not know how they would be able to survive without being visited by their loved ones. This is required in order to help the patient get better and this is something that the patient should understand.

The person undergoing isolation is not allowed to bring anything to the isolation room. The patient should also be allowed to speak to their loved ones through phone so that they can feel stronger even when they feel alone.

This depends upon whether it is true that the patient is going to die. We are all going to die, some of us sooner than others. If a patient is terminally ill, the doctor will have communicated that and the nurse, if questioned by the patient, should check what the doctor has said. e.g. "Is that what you believe, or is that what doctor has told you?" First establish the facts. It would be a terrible thing to agree if there was any decent chance of a patient recovering.

If a nurse knows very well that the patient is terminally ill, AND that this has already been told him, then a quiet acceptance of the statement is appropriate. In comfort, you can ask if there are any requests that s/he might be able to fulfil. Sometimes, saying nothing but holding the patient's hand in sympathy will be enough. I hope you have training, for you should not have to be working all this out on each occcasion for yourself. Ultimately, look for the positive for patients, allow hope, allow truth and acceptance.

Many think that money takes all of the problems away, but this is further from the truth. Contrary to belief, rich people also have issues that they face. One problem they face is insecurity. They don't know if the people that are around them genuinely care about them for them or their money.

Another problem they face is the lack of time to spend with family and friends. Many rich people involve themselves in several businesses and projects. Those these help them fair well financially, moments with their loved ones are sacrificed. Along with that comes a lack of sleep because they are trying to balance so many things.

Personification is a figure of speech that attributes inanimate objects or animals with human actions. In simpler words, it is giving actions to non-living things that are usually done or acted by humans. An example of personification is “The trees are dancing whenever a strong wind kisses them.” the trees cannot literally dance and the wind cannot do not kiss.

But with the use of those two verbs that humans can intentionally do, it makes the reader understand better that the wind is blowing hard that it makes the trees sway. Personification is often used in poems and plays as it can describe an event more effectively and to put more drama into it.

The answer to this is A. Trenton was experiencing disequilibrium because he cannot comprehend why the sand that came from the other container seems to look more when placed in a skinny container.

He continued to do it and slowly, he had a realization about the sizes and the shapes of the containers. That is the moment when he had a realization and this is equilibrium. He has found some balance again because he already understood the reason why.

Usually, a sense of unbalance occurs whenever there are things that we do not understand. This does not only happen to kids. Adults can still have realizations every day in their lives.

This seems to be more of an application of something that a direct question. I mean, I have a student number, but I’m not going to share it. However, this could be a stimulus-response question, in which case, you would want Edward Thorndike. He did work on stimulus-response and stimulus while he worked in psychology.

He thought that intelligence wasn’t community-based, but instead was something that was done on an individual level. In fact, he became known for his experiments with trial and error (the “cats in a puzzle box” experiment) and his experiments with stimulus-response. This sounds like it is supposed to be a stimulus-response question, as I’ve already noted, since remembering your student number would be a stimulus.
