Why Industrial Revolution happened in Britain first is a hot topic debate for historians.

The textile industry was the major industry during the British Industrial Revolution. There were 3 major factors that turned it into a large-scale industry. The development of canals, the Enlightenment Movement and the development of steam machinery through The Scientific Revolution.

Before the Industrial Revolution, the textile industry was home-based. The business class of Britain had a high standard of living and the trade between the colonies and other empires gave them a capitalist outlook. The development of steam-powered machines and the construction of canals occurred simultaneously and helped the cause of large-scale production. It started from textiles followed by iron industries and chemical industries.
Most historians agree that the British maintained secrecy about their technology and that didn't let other empires develop. But this is disproven by the fact that the steam-powered loom arrived in Bavaria in 1807 but the Revolution didn't start there until late 19th century. Another argued reason is that the upper classes increased in population and their business mindedness was carried by their offspring. The open-mindedness of the royalty to development proved a boon for the businessmen. Another argued reason is the availability of raw materials but this is disregarded as Bavaria had more iron than Britain and The American Revolution caused the loss of an important colony and stop the inflow of raw materials from the Americas. Some say the high standards of living promoted trade but the U.S. had higher standards of living than the British at that time but still took the wave later.

By 1850, Britain was literally called the 'Workshop of The World' and it took the world half a century to beat its grandeur. By early 20th century, The U.S., Germany, and Japan overtook Britain's development.

Venice, Italy, had once been a powerful maritime empire in the Mediterranean Sea. But, the Venetians were defeated at the Battle of Agnadello by the League of Cambrai. The League of Cambrai, formed in 1508, was comprised of Spain, France, the Holy Roman Empire, the Papal States, Hungary, Savoy, Mantua and Ferrara.

These entities all felt the Venetians had become too greedy and power hungry. After the defeat, the Republic of Venice was no longer considered a Mediterranean power. New trade routes to the East and newly discovered Western lands meant that European countries no longer had to depend on Venetian merchants and their empire eventually fell apart.

Conquistadors were men who came mostly from southern and southwestern Spain. But, some of the men came from Germany, Greece and other countries. These men typically came from fairly poor families and were in search of adventure. But, they had to have enough money to purchase their own weapons.

Many of them were former soldiers who had fought for Spain in previous wars such as the “re-conquest of the Moors (1482-1492) or the ‘Italian Wars’ (1494-1559)”. History has many records of conquistadors “murdering and tormenting native populations”, so much so that that the native populations of many Caribbean islands were “essentially wiped out by a combination of conquistador abuses and European diseases".

The crystal skulls are said to be from the pre-Columbian Mesoamerican era by most of the people who find them and always been lore that is where they come from. Scientists have not been able to defnitely prove that fact. Crystal skulls were long to have said to harbor certain mystical powers.

Sun-tzu was a military specialist or maybe even a mercenary who lived in China from 544-496 BC. He is famous for being the author of The Art of War, considered by many historians to be the best book ever written on the subject of war. His philosophy and war maneuvers focused less on force and more on psychological dominance.

For example, he advocated such tactics as setting fires in order to terrorize the enemy. Other strategies involved destroying the enemy’s morale by “splitting alliances, evading battle, attacking by surprise”, and especially by using secret agents. His goal was to create chaos within his enemy’s forces so they could not resist effectively and therefore they could more easily be defeated.

Martyrs are those individuals who will sacrifice themselves for a greater cause. Recently, there have sadly been many suicide bombers who have been brain-washed to believe that if they sacrifice themselves in the task of killing as many others as possible, they will be pleasing Allah and ensuring themselves a place in Heaven. They believe that killing people in the Western world is a necessary thing. However, misguided, these people are acting from the same principles as famous martyrs such as Joan of Arc.

How can the 'most patriotic' be judged? By number of people saved by their action, degree of awfulness of their death, beliefs and principles maintained or what? Joan of Arc did achieve a lot for Charles VII, a siege was ended after only 9 days when she came on her mission of relief. But I guess most people would say Jesus because his 'people' consisted of everyone living.
