Stalingrad is a place in Russia. However, it is mostly known for being a major battle site during World War II. This battle took place for a little less than half a year. Obviously, the Soviet Union which later became Russia, fought against Germany. Both sides wanted control of the city. The battle ended in 1943 which is in the middle of the war. Both sides fought each other directly by firing their weapons.
After the six months was over, the Soviet Union kept he city and won the battle. Millions of soldiers were killed. It was the worst battle in the Second World War. This seemed like a turning point in the war. At this point, Germany had been gaining ground in Europe and Asia, but after this battle Germany had to remove its troops.
The Abbasid Caliphate ruled the Islamic world from 750 to 1258 AD. It was one of the largest empires in the world during its early history and it was also one of the “longest and most influential Islamic dynasties”. Its decline happened slowly beginning with Caliph al-Ma’mun’s (813–833) reign.
Over time, as different Caliph’s came to power, their influence over the people and the region rose and fell due to many different factors. Eventually, they were primarily just figure heads. The last Caliph, al-Mu`tasim (r. 1242–1258), turned to the Mongols for help against his chief rival and ruler of Persia, the Sultanate of Khwarazm. However, the Mongols turned against al- Mu`tasim, surrounded Baghdad, killed the caliph, and completely destroyed the city.
Perhaps the answer lies in the Turkish language. The mood positive, to be able, for instance. Turks, like Kurds, were nomads, used to constant threat. This made them alert and ready always to defend their honor. The Ottoman Empire emerged in the 13th century. It was comprised of several cultures and nationalities, but essentially it was Turkish.
This empire stretched from the borders of Iran to Austria, parts of the African Mediterranean coast from Egypt to Algeria. It comprised the three ‘Old World’ continents. The Ottoman's planning resembled the skill shown in ancient Roman not the current medieval pattern, so the battles were strategic, land ahead was prepared, e.g. bridges repaired, food and stores organized.
Discipline was strict, training extensive, with wonderful horsemanship, and later, gun-making skills. The ferocity of Turkish attacks were legendary. Even in the 17th-19th centuries when the Russians successes prevailed during the lengthy Russian/Ottoman wars, the bravery of the Turks was never in doubt.
The League of Nations was established in 1920 and is similar to the United Nations where a group of countries came together in order to establish peace and make decision about the world together. Over time, more and more countries come on board the League of Nations. The League of Nations was established in 1920 because that followed the end of World War I when a large number of countries were involved in war.
However, it would only be about twenty years later before the next World War would take place. The reason that the League of Nations could not keep peace in Europe is because they did not have their own military. They had to rely on the armed forces of the European countries.
The Renaissance was a period of time in Europe that was known for its increase in art and literature. It began in Italy. There were other topics that were also included in the Renaissance which were science, music and humanism to name a few. Due to trading with merchants, the people had to go to different places to sell their wares.
So, Renaissance and ideas spread to other countries in Europe and even in Asia. Genoa was part of the Renaissance, but they did not participate like the other cities in Italy in the art. This is because they were heavily involved in trading and shipbuilding. Then there was limited activity involved in art. The citizens did not want to stop what they were doing and participate in art.

The assumption that Mary Magdalene was a woman of sin who washed Jesus’ feet attracted a fortress in the sixth century when Pope Gregory the Great stated his belief in one of his sermons that the unnamed woman was Mary Magdalene. However, Pope Gregory presumes that Mary of Bethany and Mary Magdalene was the same individual.
This so-called belief led to the disapproval and the denouncing of the existence of Mary Magdalene in the Vatican and the fact wasn’t disputed that demons were cast out of her which has made the Vatican counted her so sinful to be called a saint.
The Roman Empire was an area of Europe and Asia and it took place from 27 BC until 395 AD. So, it took place for a large period of time. Constantinople was the largest city later in the era of the Roman Empire with Rome being the largest during the earlier times. This empire was ruled at times by Julius Caesar and Caligula. There were some major events that took place during the Roman Empire.
This includes Hannibal invading Italy and the Laws of the Twelve Tables. Even though the Roman Empire lasted for many years and was once the most powerful empires in history, it came to a crashing end when people stopped following the orders of their leader. Due to its vast space, it was very difficult to rule all of that land.
Imperialism is when a country by force takes over another country or territory where people reside. Usually, people within the country are attacked by the soldiers from the country who have infiltrated this country. Usually, the country is weak and can’t fight off the bigger country. One instance of this is when Great Britain seized control over India. This became popular because of Gandhi being a part of this.
The main difference between this and colonialism is that the country is not stating that this country is theirs, but it is under their control. Also, their citizens are not coming to this country to live. Only soldiers are sent there to make sure they still have control over these people.
There were actually several countries that have Dark Ages. The most prominent one that many people refer to is the Dark Ages to the Middle Ages. Also, the main religions in England were having problems with the reformations.

Therefore, people were in a sense striking against the religion. This formed other religions but it put people’s lives in danger. After this dark ages, enlightenment followed.
