Only depress the central nervous system. This is the only choice that’s actually a statement, so it should be pretty easy to pick the right answer. “N,” “N,” and “N” are not plausible statements about psychoactive drugs. They are neither true nor false.

The correct answer is option C, because the word ‘only’ makes it false. While it’s true that some psychoactive drugs have a depressant effect on the central nervous system, others are stimulants, hallucinogens, or have other kinds of effects on the brain.

Option C describes one subcategory of psychoactive drugs, not the whole group of psychoactive drugs itself. Depressants are frequently used as sleeping pills (e.g. Seconal and other barbiturates), whereas others are used as anti-anxiety medication (e.g. Xanax).

Contibuting spare time to chaperone your children's school trip. The idea of ‘generativity’ was developed by Erik Erikson and refers to a desire to help the next generation of your community beyond your own family. This is a good example because it’s not just your children that benefit, but all the other kids on the trip as well. Other examples of generativity might include mentoring children through a big brothers/big sisters program, or volunteering to speak to young people about your field of expertise.

You can remember the concept of ‘generativity’ by remembering that it comes from the same root as ‘generation’ and ‘generous.’ A generative person is one who is generous with the next generation. None of the other options really describe that kind of behavior.

Communication skills help to promote better emotional health in a number of ways:

1. Help you to express the emotions that you are feeling. This prevents stress, anxiety, and high blood pressure that may come with keeping your emotions bottled up inside of you.

2. Lead to deeper, more meaningful relationships. Communication skills with others help you to better share your own emotions, as well as listen to and understand the emotions of others. This can help to forge deeper relationships with those around you.

3. Promote empathy and emotional intelligence. Empathy is a trait that allows you to relate to the emotions of others, while emotional intelligence helps you to recognize what others are feeling. Communication skills can lead to these additional skills, which help you to relate to others.

When it consistently enhances relationships. The type of humor isn’t what defines emotional wellness, but rather its effect on you and the people around you. So we can eliminate C and D, which describe styles of humor rather than outcomes. Option A isn’t right either, because this may be only a short-term effect. Alternatively, the outward use of humor might be masking deeper symptoms of emotional distress. Sure, you might be able to present a situation in a humorous way – but does that actually mean you’re experiencing positive emotions?

Does it mean you’re processing negative emotions in a healthy and productive way? Not necessarily. Wellness can only be defined in the long term – it isn’t just a short-term release of tension. Option B is the only one that describes a stable, long-term health outcome from humor.

A tendency to show a range of emotions that reflect life’s ups and downs AND an ability to remain calm and in control of one’s emotions. Both of these are potential signs of health, but both of them could also be overdone. On the first one, it’s true that emotionally healthy people experience a full range of positive and negative emotions.

But at the same time life’s ups and downs should not have too dramatic an effect on a healthy person’s mood, and they should be able to maintain emotional equilibrium throughout it all. So the second answer is true as well – emotionally healthy people are able to keep an even keel and aren’t battered by constant emotional swings. Ideally, an emotionally healthy person should have both of these qualities.

Overall women live longer than men. Many studies have been conducted to determine the reason for this. Some believe that women take care of themselves better than men. There is a greater amount of men who smoke than women. As teenagers, they may start to smoke to look cool and boys may find this is a better way for them to look strong and bad. Women may find the smell to be repulsive. The smoke stains their teeth and clothing. Women have tendency to not want the smell or appearance that smoke causes.
