Chemical Compound Questions and Answers (Q&A)

I am a nature lover.

PFA stands for Perfluroalkoxy and PTFE is the acronym for Polytetrafluoroethylene. PFA and PTFE have many similar properties for they are not the same. PFA is a type of fluoropolymer many used in plastics. It is more flexible than PTFE. PFA is not as chemical and temperature resistant as PTFE. Its operating ranges in temperature are from -200 to 260 degree Celsius. PTA can be melted and processed; it is done through mold injections.

Because of its chemical properties and its transparency, PTFE is a synthetic polymer that is mostly known as “Teflon”. It is more resistant to heat compared to PFA. This is because of its wide range of operating temperatures. It typical operating temperature ranges from -270 to 260 degree Celsius. PTFE is also less affected by absorption of water. PTFE is often used in the production of fittings, gaskets, valve bodies and diaphragm. Hope you find this helpful.

The I.U.P.A.C. name of the molecular formula CH3CH2CH=CH2 is But-1-ene. I can explain my answer.

This molecular formula has four carbons and one double bond at C1. According to the naming conventions of hydrocarbons, four carbon atoms are known as “But” and the double bond is called “Ene”. Hence, its IUPAC name will be But-1-ene.

Butene is not the correct answer as it has not specified the position of the double bond.

Let's see how far my knowledge stretches

Niacin and Niaspan are both medicines that are prescribed to patients to help with similar problems. For instance, they both help people who have high cholesterol, elevated VLDL, Hyperlipoproteinemia, and other things.

However, there are other problems that each medicine is prescribed for, but the other medicine would not help. For instance, niacin is also prescribed for Niacin deficiency, but Niaspan isn’t. Niacin is also prescribed to patients for Pellagra. Both can be obtained through a prescription and over the counter.

Another difference is that niacin may be given to a patient for depression, and Niaspan may be prescribed to patients for other reasons. Niacin is more popular than Niaspan. This is due to there being more reviews for niacin.

To distill liquids, they must be placed in a flask and heated in order to determine their boiling points. The more volatile liquid will evaporate into the condensing column first and will be converted into liquid. Fractional distillation is the separation of a liquid mixture in fractions, whereas simple distillation is when two liquids with two different boiling points are separated.

Fractional distillation provides a better separation of liquids than simple distillation. Fractional distillation allows for the liquid to distill over and over again due to the fractioning column. In fractional distillation, glass or plastic beads are placed in the fractional column in order to make the fractional distillation occur.

Acetic Acid and Glacial Acetic Acid are two types of organic acids that share some similarities as well as a wide range of differences. Acetic acid belongs to the alkanoic family, and it has the molecular formula of CH3COOH, it can as well be called ethanoic acid.

Acetic acid can be used for a lot of chemical processes, and most importantly, it can be used in the preparation of other members of another homologous series. It is a colorless liquid, and it has a sour taste, and it dissolves readily in water. Glacial acetic acid, on the other hand, is an anhydrous acetic acid.

It is called glacial acetic acid because it forms ice like crystals with temperate below 16.7°C. Acetic acid, on the other hand, does not form ice-like crystals. Another difference is that glacial acetic acid does not occur naturally, but acetic acid can be extracted from plant and animal

Lead(IV) Sulfate is the name of the formula Pb2(SO4)4. This is composed of the elements Lead (Pb), Sulfur (S), and Oxygen (O). For this compound, lead has 2 atoms with an atomic weight of 207.2 and a mass percent of 51.89, sulfur has 4 atoms, 32.065 atomic weight, and 16.06% mass percent, and oxygen has 16 atoms, an atomic weight of 15.9994, and mass percent of 32.05. the molar mass of Lead(IV) Sulfate or Pb2(SO4)4 is 798.6504 g/mol. Pb2(SO4)4 can also be called Plumbic Sulphate as its common while Lead(IV) Sulfate is its systematic name. Either is correct as long as it did not specify to write the common or systematic name of Pb2(SO4)4.

ATP stands for Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). It is the energy currency of life and this term is given by the biologist scientists. ATP stores the energy in our body and provides energy to us whenever we need it.

ATP is present in the cytoplasm and nucleoplasm of every cell.

There are 3 different elements in silver nitrate (AgNO3). It also contains 5 atoms. Silver (1 atom), Nitrogen (1) and Oxygen (3). Nitrogen and Oxygen together to form an ion called nitrate (NO3). The ionic form of silver (Ag+) combines with Nitrate (NO3) to form silver nitrate (AgNO3).

Elements and symbols present in silver nitrate
Element Symbol
Silver Ag
Nitrogen N
Oxygen O
Hope this helps.
