Narayana Guru was born in 1855, lived until 1928 and was a spiritual leader and social reformer in India. He led a reform movement in Kerala opposing the casting system in Kerala to promote social equality. Guru was the quintessence of all virtues, values, and rare qualities not often found in humanity.

He encompassed mysticism, philosophy, science, and social reform, and much more. In 1881 Guru became a public figure as a social reformer, traveling through Kerala and Tamil Nadu. During his journey, he met a social and religious reformer where he learned to yoga and meditation. He made efforts to provide education for all children regardless of their station in life, and he persevered to end casteism.

Sulphur becomes sulphur dioxide when sulphur is burned in a blue flame of oxygen gas. Sulphur dioxide reacts to the addition of water, becoming acidic, that is an acid solution. It is then correctly names sulphuric acid. It will change the blue litmus paper to red, but if the litmus paper is red to begin with, the colour does not change.

When combined with oxides other colours occur. This is why experiments with sulphur are popular with science teachers because the result is easily visible, prompts questions from the class and the various results are easily recorded.
