On December 27th and 28th we'll be doing some server maintenance, making everything faster and more reliable for you. Here's why...
Firstly, you might want to know what's been going on in ProProfs Project HQ these last few weeks. Well it's been busy as usual, but rather than building new features we've been focusing on the core service and some hardware related stuff.
In particular you might have noticed things being a little slow with a few instances of unplanned downtime unfortunately. This was due to our server receiving a high volume of activity (in particular our API), and due to a few loose screws in the application our server was running out of resources and struggling to stay online.
Well the good news is we were able to sort out the issues and improve not only the codebase, speeding up the application by up to 90% in some cases, but also making everything more reliable by optimizing our current hardware configuration.
The outages prompted us to bring forward our plan to upgrade our hardware, which was originally planned for later next year. So we have now purchased a shiny, brand new server which is much more powerful and also utilizes the cloud much more
Our maintenance window for upgrade to this new hardware is December 27th - 28th (hopefully while you are relaxing and enjoying mince pies!).
During this time there may be a few moments of downtime as we propagate to a new IP address and synchronize data. We'll give you more information nearer the time on our social feeds,Twitter and Facebook, so please subscribe to those.
