  • How to create a scored quiz?

Creating a scored quiz is simple and quick with ProProfs Quiz School! Start by clicking the “Create a Quiz” button on the Quiz School home page and then click “Create Scored Quiz” when you are at the “Create a Quiz” screen.

    Create Scored Quiz

Follow up by adding simple quiz details, including the title of the quiz, keywords/tags, and a short description of the quiz designed to help users and students find your knowledge offering!

    Create Scored Quiz Form

Once you have added the simple details, go ahead and add questions. Below is an example of a typical quiz question with answer choices. Notice that the correct choice is checked! You can check multiple answer choices as correct if there are multiple possible answers.

    Question 1

It’s always good to add some explanation after the question so the user knows why the answer is the way it is! Other times, you may want to use the explanation button to give some more background about the answer choice itself.

    Add Explanation

    Many Question Types Are Supported
Of course, you can add more questions – choose from multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, or essay questions. Questions can be easily deleted if necessary using the red X button on the top-right corner of the question area.
Using the 3 options listed below you can add many question types:

    • True/False
    • Multiple Choice
    • Multiple Response
    • Fill in the Blank
    • Short Answer
    • Essay

    Add more questions

To create “True/False” or “Yes/No” simply add just two answer options to multiple choice. When creating a multiple choice question, if you select just one answer it becomes a “Multiple Choice”, however if you select more than one option as answer, the question is converted to “Multiple Choice”, where the user is shown a check box instead of a radio button. Similarly Short Answer is “Essay Type” with a small limit on the number of maximum words.

    • True/False
    • Multiple Choice
    • Multiple Response
    • Fill in the Blank
    • Short Answer
    • Essay

You can also set and change quiz options after you are done completing the quiz. Scoring options, messages, security options, and even color/style changes are all easily customizable! Below is an example of some of the possible scoring option choices you can make. We have made this a pass/fail quiz with a pass percentage of 70%. Note that you can set a time limit if applicable and even issue a certificate of achievement.

    Quiz Options

You can change message options as shown below. Adding a quiz banner allows you to display a message on the top of every question in the quiz, which is useful for quizzes that require some shared background information (i.e. a reading passage). You can also edit the end-of-quiz message.

Accessibility options are also important and allow you to edit security preferences for the quiz. You can add a password, hide quiz answers, and even privatize quiz comments using this tab.

    Accessibility Options

Last, you need to choose a category for your quiz. Finally, click the “Create quiz” button and you will be all set!
