what do they do i know you can get them for doing stuff but is there a prize you get for getting like 100 of them

If they're anything like Microsoft/Steam/Origin achievements then they don't give you anything other than bragging rights. I've heard of some Microsoft accounts being hacked, stolen, and sold when Xbox live was being first set up due to player rating score. Apparantly if you have lots of achievements and high completion scores for games some people will pay money for the account.
But do you actually get anything from Sony? No.
