I think there are too many books written on this topic. Just see the Amazon section about small business books and there'll be a lot of shown. One of the small business ideas is to run a website and sell something. Just look at any page like this one about cases for Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and according to the open features (design, etc.) you'll find it is run by a person.
