I have an HP Pavillion dv4-2040us with Windows 7 Home Premium x64bit. After 10-20 mins. the display would power off and the power lights, HDD lights, wifi lights are still lit on the console. Check the event log and found a "kernel power error" causing shutdown. Performed a force shutdown and sometimes I would receive a "BSOD" [stop: 0x000000ed]. After researching the kernel power issue I found that after disabling the HD video driver the unit would work fine. This is only a temp. fix. Need help?

Go through the basic steps and make sure the card is seated right and that its compatible with the motherboard your using. If that adds up right then try uninstalling and re-installing the drivers.
