In any way, learners must have a good understanding of network concepts (i.e. DNS, IP Config, IIS and network protocols) to pass the exam. There is very little on desktop configuration and what I consider end-user self-administration using Control Panel features.
The exam was heavy on command line tools - know the unattended and Remote Assistance topics well. My instructor had us memorize the log-in sequence, which was virtually absent from the exam.
Know the internet sharing features of Workgroups.
Know how to configure hardware profiles.
Know the basic MMC snaps ins - Group Policy, Users, etc.
Attached is a review of the key points of the 2285B course. At least I can retake the exam for free until 6/30/10.
