Hey, im currently using the CompTIA A+ Complete Study Guide: Exams 220-701 (Essentials) and 220-702 (Practical Application) Book.

It comes with a cd rom that includes a test engine, which has 20 questions per chapter (19 chapters) plus a starting evaluation test that is approx 60 questions and another 6 final tests of around 60 questions each (3 for 701 and 3 for 702 exams). It also includes about 200 flash cards that cover everything.

Im currently studying for my A+ and hope to take it by the end of the year and about about 3/4 of the way through this book.

I am also using the updated cram sheet located on this site which is awesome!

what is everyone else using?

The only other book ive seen out for the 2009 edition is the exam cram.

Im also reading the exam cram book for 220-701 and 220-702 by David L Prowse.  Its a very good read actually, lots of useful information and it includes practice exams.  Another great resource is the Professor Messer videos and they are free!! http://www.professormesser.com The videos are for the 2006 test but there is still a lot of good information there that will help us on the 2009 exam.

I just talked with Kathleen Mrazek at www.knowledge.elementk.com and she told me that their free training would start sometime in January or February. There are many qualifying standards but the two I used were veteran and displaced worker.

I'm currently reading CompTIA A+ Complete Review Guide. Part 1 is for 220-701 and Part 2 is for 220-702.
