Trying to come up with a mneumonic for Post error codes. Here is what I have...please suggest improvements:

Write down:

100,
200,
300
400,
500,
600,
1700

Use the mneumonic:

Sweetie Maria, Kiss Me Closely For Heavenssake

The first letter of the above sentence helps in remembering the order:

100 Series ( 100-199): System Board or Motherboard
200 Series ( 200-299): Memory or RAM
300 Series ( 300-399): Keyboard
400 Series ( 400-499): Monochrome Video
500 Series ( 500-599): Color Video
600 Series ( 600-699): Floppy Drive
1700 Series ( 1700-1799): Hard Drive

Any better ideas?

Something you can do, Kxxxmacd. If you know any tips or tricks the other menbers can use please post them. That would include study notes or useful links. It's with the help of everyone, that keeps this site so useful. hi.gif

This is genius, thanks. There are 2 areas where i feel my knowledge is lacking and one is error codes and two is laser printing prcesses.

This is a huge help and i try adopt this strategy in many aspects of learning and remembering.

Thanks again..

Whatever memorization technique you use, add this tidbit to it. Take your notes with you in the your car. All the list type stuff like the osi model, IRQs, ect. Ofcourse you can't take them in with you, but you can scan over them. Then when you get inside and the test conductor gives you some scratch paper, go ahead and write everything down that you just looked at in your car. Might be a good idea for short term memory loss and it will relax you and make you feel a little more confident. At least that idea has help me in the past and Im planning on doing it again.
FYI I just added 'Serious Mishaps Keep Me Calling For Help' and 'California Cows Won't Dance The Fandango' to my last minute reminder list. Thanks for those ideas.
