The internet or World Wide Web as it is sometimes known dates back to the 1970s – it’ll come as no surprise to find out that the original incarnation bore little resemblance to the modern net. However, did you know that the internet and the World Wide Web are actually two different things? Today we fly down the information superhighway for work and play, going online on the move, in the office, at home and in the classroom to access information, watch TV, socialise, publish and play. However, while it’s common to say we’re going on the internet, we’re really logging on to the World Wide Web.
