Congress voted 5 billion dollars for european econ aid. Helped keep europe from voting to be communist. it was successful.

1950: N invaded S--caught everyone by surprise. US didnt declare war--we were involved on behalf of UN.

Said take war directly to main land--truman said no. Being subordinate--truman fired him; not a popular desicion. Really good soldier; everyone loved him.

Monetogmery Bus Boycott
This was a citywide, 40,000 person boycott of the buses. It was a huge success, and at a black conference on the first night, they decided unanimously to continue the boycott. The people found ways to live without the buses by carpooling and walking, and bus segregation was eventually ruled unconstitutional.
