Absolute magnitude
The apparent magnitude that a star would have if it were at a distance of 10 parsecs.
Accelerating universe
The speed of the expansion of the universe is expanding contrary to the luminous and dark matter that should slow its acceleration. The cause of this is proposed to be dark energy.

Mass Transfer
The flow of gas from one star to another in a binary system which results in the formation of an accretion disk.
Accretion disk
The angular momentum conserved from the mass transfer from a red giant to a compact white dwarf is utilized to form a disk of gas/matter around a star or black hole.
Pulsar
A neutron star that flashes cones of light tilted from the rotational axis by rotating very rapidly by the conservation of angular momentum.

Two stars rotating around each other.
White dwarf supernova
The accumulation of matter in accretion disk around a white dwarf causes its mass to increase past the white dwarf limit and then cause an explosion of great luminosity and the creation of heavier elements (Fe Ni). Type 1a.
Core collapse supernova
A high-mass star reaches the end of its life and forms an iron core. This core collapses, the layers above it “bounce off” and explode into a supernova remnant. This is a Type II supernova.
Gamma ray bursts
An extremely large release of radiation from the greatest explosions in the universe. Could be from a supernova or the collision of neutron stars.
Neutron degeneracy pressure
The limit at which the mass of a neutron star cannot be supported.2-3 Solar Masses. If enough mass falls onto the core in a supernova a black hole can be formed.
Event horizon
A boundary that is the point of no return for a black hole.
Singularity
The point center of a black hole at which there is infinite density and zero mass
