What should you do when a police vehicle with flashing lights and giving an audible signal approaches?
You shall move to the right. The driver shall maintain a distance of at least 300 feet in an emergency.
How far back must you be behind a firetruck that is responding to a fire?
You cannot follow any closer than 500 feet.
Do you have to stop for a school bus on a divided highway when traveling in the opposite direction?
No.
Must you always stop for a school bus dropping off children?
Yes. You have to stop until the stop sign and flashing lights are no longer shown.
When entering the roadway from an alley or driveway, what must you do?
You must stop before reaching the sidewalk and yield the right-of-way to pedestrians and approaching vehicles.
When must you yield to pedestrians?
You must yield the right-of-way to pedestrians crossing the street in any marked or unmarked crosswalk. You must yield even if your light turns green.
When approaching an intersection with a inoperative traffic control signal or no traffic lights, stop signs or yield signs, what do you do?
Treat it as you would a 4-way stop.
What must you do when entering the highway?
Yield the right-of-way to drivers already on the highway. Increase your speed to match the vehicles already on the road in the right lane. Signal, check the traffic around you, and merge carefully.
What should you do if you miss your exit on the highway?
You must never stop and never back up on a highway. You have to take the next exit and signal before you do.
What must you do when you have to back your car?
Check behind your vehicle before you get in for objects or children. Place your arm on the back of the seat and turn around so you can look directly through the mirrors. Back slowly.
