What three things are most important to reliability?
Repeatable, Inter-rated reliability and item reliability
What does one have when they are more likely to accept their point?
Confirmation Bias
What are the seven types of validity and what do they mean?
Face - Does it look right? Content - Are you measuring what is meant to be measured? Criterion - Is one measure valid against another? Predictive - Predciting the Future Construct - REsults support prediction of theoretical concept Discriminative - Can something differentiate between 2 similar things? Concurrent - Do two things and measure same variable
Explain the conditions in Naturalistic Observation
Touch on limits of the environment, observer bias, blind/double blind and control of cariables
What are the four conditions of a survey?
Validity, Efficient, Sample size & Self report
What are the five conditions of an experiment?
Must be more than 1 condition, only difference between conditions should be independent variable, subjects must be randomly sampled & assigned, statistical analysis of results must be done & can not selectively omit data from analysis
What is the confoudning variable? And random variable?
COnfounding - Variables that vary along with independent that may impact dependent Random - Variables that will differ across conditions but are difficult to control for Another extraneous variable - Subject expectation
What is longituidinal research?
That which occurs over a long period of time
