Here...the liver is more proficient in detoxifying the system.

METABOLIC TOLERANCE
The liver is damaged, therefore the alcohol stays in the system longer. A liver can be damaged by chronic alcohol use, leading to a buildup of fat and scar tissue. The reduced ability of such a liver to metabolize or break down alcohol means that small amounts can lead to a high BAC and more rapid intoxication.

REVERSE TOLERANCE
The individual tries to compensate/adjust to changes in behavior and actions while under the influence, i.e.walk slower or try to speak w/ more pronounciation.

BEHAVIORAL TOLERANCE
Tolerance to other drugs/substance, usually of same/similar class, having similar effects/dose needs. The body has learned to cope and normalize to 1 substance.

CROSS TOLERANCE
Tolerance existing on a cellular level within the brain-what we refer to when we speak of TOLERANCE. Brain needs more to achieve same effect.

PSYCHO DYNAMIC TOLERANCE
