Conceptual definitions are abstract. They are articulated in words that facilitate understanding. They are the sort of descriptions that we see in dictionaries, and we use them in everyday conversations to tell people what we mean by some word or phrase.

A conceptual definition tells you what a concept means in abstract or theoretical terms. Conceptual definitions capture something real in a way that is easy to remember and apply. Simply put, Constructs are the building blocks of theories. The purpose of the conceptual definition is to help explain how and why things are the way they are.
