A forest should be healthy and productive for men and animals. Forest degradation is the process whereby the biological wealth of a forest is reduced. Degradation of forests causes the forest to lose its values.

When forest degradation occurs, some species of animals go into extinction; the soil also losses its fertility. There are different causes of forest degradation. These include deforestation, mining, livestock grazing, acid rain, expansion of urban areas, pest and diseases, soil erosion, and land pollution.

Forest degradation can be reduced by good forest management and the practice of afforestation. People should also be enlightened about the benefits of the forest. They should also be aware of its benefits such as it creates employment, it can be used as a tourist center, and trees in the forest also act as breakers for strong wind.

The correct answer to this question is A, A reduction in forest quality. Deforestation is also known as felling trees. For the human species, it is important for many reasons. One is that trees can be used as a source of herbal medicine.

Along with that, trees are used to create paper. Despite those reasons, trees are still needing, and many alternatives have been put in place to try and keep the trees alive.

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimates that almost 18 million acres of forest are lost every year. This impacts the clean air and impacts the lifespan of the animals, which is why the origination is working hard to bring awareness to the issue.
