The Philippine revolution is also known by the name of the Tagalog war. It was fought between the Philippines and Spain and began in 1896. It basically started over katipunan, when the Spanish officials found out about this anticolonial secret organization. This organization was led by Andres Bonifacio who wanted independence and was looking for freedom after 350 years of control by the Spain authorities.

This happened when Katipunan openly declared war against the government by creating a one for themselves called the Haring Bayang Katagalugan. Jose Pizal also had a major role in the war. He helped a group to resist the forces of the Spanish army and fight for independence.
