Too much of anything is bad for us no matter how medicinal it is. One of the major problems with too much consumption of Blue Cheese is that it is extremely full and high in fat and calories. It is proven that just a single ounce of the smelly stuff has about hundred calories and this is about five percent of an average person's daily allowance. It can also be detrimental to human health as it contains a high amount of sodium.

However, Blue cheese has some valuable nutritional benefits if it is taken in proper moderation. It is also good if taken in small quantity as it contains higher amount of protein and Vitamin B-12.

The term "anything in moderation" may have been coined for all the people who love blue cheese. One of the major problems with it is that it is extremely high in fat and calories. A single ounce of the smelly stuff has one hundred calories, which is about five percent of the average person's daily allowance. It also contains a high amount of sodium, which can also be detrimental to your health. However, in small amounts it is good for you. Blue cheese has some valueable nutritional benefits if it is eaten in moderation.

It contains a high amount of protein and vitamin B-12. One ounce of blue cheese has six grams of protein, which helps your immune system and repairs tissues in the body. The B-12 helps to regenerate red blood cells and it helps aid the nervous system. Blue cheese is also rich in minerals such as calcium and phosphorus. These minerals help your bones and can even help balance your hormone levels. This stinky stuff is great for you in moderation. Add a sprinkle of it to a salad to derive a powerhouse of nutritional benefits.
