USB

USB supports data transfer rates of 12 Mbps (12 million bits per second). A single USB port can be used to connect up to 127 peripheral devices, such as mice, modems, and keyboards. USB supports Plug-and-Play installation.

USB, typically located on the back of the computer (sometimes accessible through front-mounted ports), provides an easy way to connect USB-compatible peripherals such as scanners, cameras, joysticks, mice and keyboards etc… A USB hub is used to connect more than two USB devices. Generally, "powered" USB hubs provide better compatibility with cameras and other USB devices than do inexpensive un-powered hubs. The 12Mbps USB 1.1 spec is officially referred to as "full-speed" USB.
