It is always a best practice to get your display device checked by an authorized technician as monitors contain high voltage circuits inside and therefore it is not recommended to experiment with it. Any Electric shock from a monitor will be fatal.

Before you call out a technician you can perform some steps to determine if there is a real problem with the monitor.

Most monitors today have a self-test tool built into it, which turns on automatically every time there is no video. The diagnostics will tell you if there is a specific problem with the monitor so that you can isolate the problem.
