A+ Certification Study Guide: Diagnosing & Troubleshooting

SCSI

Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) has become an industry standard for expanding the computer's usability. SCSI identification numbers are used to keep track of the many devices attached to the computer.. There can be a total of seven devices attached to the computer. One important thing about SCSI chains is that they need to be terminated.

The problems arising from SCSI can cause a wide range of symptoms on your computer.

If a SCSI device is not working:

  1. Re-check all power and SCSI cables.

  2. Unplug all other SCSI devices in the chain and connect the problem device directly to your computer.
