Incase the controller is present in the Device Manager, Right-click on the Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller entry >> Select Properties from the popup menu to open the Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller Properties window.
Check for any message in the Device Status section, which describes the problem and suggests basic troubleshooting step.
If the BIOS and controller settings are correct, then we should check the USB port drivers. They have a separate entry in the Device Manager which can be accessed by clicking the Universal Serial Bus Controllers entry, then right-clicking the USB Root Hub entry, and finally clicking on its Properties.
When a USB device is not install automatically, there is a possibility that conflicting drivers are loaded for this device.
