A+ Study Guide: Installing IDE & SCSI Devices

Narrow

The 8-bit SCSI i.e., the Narrow SCSI is also at times referred to as the 50-conductor or 50-pin cable owing to the number of wires in the cable or pins in its connectors. Since the SCSI-1 standard is inclusive of these cables hence it is also referred to as SCSI-1. These cables are also called "A" cables, officially. Availability of Narrow cables is varied, the basis of which is the type of cable and connectors that are being used. Together they are referred as "A" cables.
