USB Port

USB stands for "Universal Serial Bus". This is a common port found on the modern computer. Most computers have 4 to 6 USB ports. USB ports are high speed ports and are designed with Plug and Play feature.

The main features of a USB port are as follows:

  1. The computer acts as the host.

  2. Up to 127 devices can be connected to the host, either directly or by way of USB hubs.

  3. The maximum bus speed of a USB port is 480 Megabits per second.

  4. USB devices are hot swappable, meaning you can plug and unplug the device any time.

  5. Most USB devices can be put to sleep when the computer enters a power saving mode.
