Following are the steps to be followed to configure Multimedia Devices:

  1. Open Device Manager.

  2. Double-click Sound, Video and Game controllers.

  3. Right-click the device to be configured, and then click Properties.

  4. On the Properties tab, locate the specific device, and then double-click it.

  5. Change the configurations for the device.

Note:

To open Device Manager, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, double-click Computer Management, and then click Device Manager.

  1. The Properties button is available only if you have drivers other than Windows Driver Model (WDM) on your computer. If the Properties button appears dimmed, use the Resources tab to configure the device. Opens More Info in a new browser window

  2. Multimedia devices can include audio or video codecs, game ports, and MIDI devices.

You might also want to reconfigure multimedia settings to adjust compression settings and allow a device driver to be used by a program.
