Caution & Guidelines

Guidelines:

You will need a clean, well-lit space in which to work and some basic hand tools.

The following tools are required:

  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Grounding strap
  • Razor knife or scissors
  • Rag or lint-free paper towels
  • Non-oil-based cleaning solution (no wax)
  • Can of compressed air

Safety Guidelines:

Use the following safety guidelines to help protect your computer from potential damage and to help ensure your own personal safety.

  1. Read product instruction guide before you begin.

  2. Handle components and cards with care. Do not touch the components or contacts on a card. Hold a card by its edges or by its metal mounting bracket. Hold a component such as a processor by its edges, not by its pins.

  3. Turn off the computer as instructed in the product information guide.

  4. Disconnect all the cables at the back of the computer first and then unplug it from the source. Opens More Info in a new browser window
