Connecting to a share:
You can open the network neighborhood or my network places to identify the remote computer. You can also find it by clicking Start, then Find, and then Computer (name of the remote computer). You can also find the remote computer by clicking Start, then Run, and then entering a UNC name in the form \\<Computer_name>. For example, if you want to connect to a computer called User1, enter: \\user1
After you have successfully identified the remote computer then double click on it to open the computer and view the shared resources. You may be prompted for a password type the user name and the password in the dialog box to proceed.
You can map a drive letter to the folder by right-clicking it and choosing Map Network Drive.
You can make shortcuts to the share by dragging the folder onto the desktop. You can also make shortcuts to files and folders inside the share in the same way.
To start the Printer Installation Wizard, double-click a shared printer's icon. Once the shared printer is installed, it will appear in the Printers control panel.
