FDISK

FDISK is a powerful tool that can be used to partition a disk driver. It can also be used to recreate or fix the errors in the Master Boot record. Care should be taken while using FDISK or FDISK command line switches as using a wrong command or choosing a wrong option can cause data loss or even lead to drive failure.

FORMAT

The format command is used to format the drive in case the drive is newly partitioned or if the operating system needs to be installed on it.

SYS

This command can be used to copy system files from the boot disk to the hard drive partition. This can also be done with the format utility using the /s switch.
