Decoding Dr. Watson Errors

Users running Microsoft Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP can also be decoded to get better understanding of the error. The errors are logged to a log file & each error is appended to the end of the log file. To determine the exact error, scroll to the end of the file.

The log file will have information on the application and also on the time and the exception number with error.

Dr.Watson may seem similar to Error Reporting service but it is different in the sense that the reporting service sends errors reports to Microsoft. These reports are anonymous hence Microsoft will not know the computer that generated the issue though it might know what caused the error; whereas Dr.Watson error logs can be captured and sent to Microsoft professionals for reviewing and they might have a possible solution to the error.
