The Windows Task Manager is a program used to provide the general status of the computer and information on the processes and programs running on the computer. It can be used to end processes and programs and also to give a process higher priority. It also displays the most commonly used performance measures for processes.
Pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc will bring up the Task Manager Window. Otherwise right-click on the Task Bar and click on "Task Manager" or press Ctrl+Alt+Del & select Task Manager.
Sometimes holding the Ctrl+Alt+Del can cause the system to restart or sometimes it does not result in any thing. If the task manger Window is opened then it will list any application that is not responding. After selecting the non-responding application the application can be forced to close by using the End Task button.
