Windows XP Setup boot disks

The XP setup boot disks are a set of six floppy disks. This set of diskettes can be used in installing the operating system when the system cannot boot from the CD. Their only function is installing Windows. For restoration and troubleshooting another set of disks called the restore disks are used. These disks are used to access the Recovery Console and many other system tools.

Though Windows XP has boot disks and restore disks, they are hardly ever used as the bootable Windows XP operating system installation CD's provide an easier and faster way to get to the recovery console or to do the installation. These bootable CDs come with a variety of diagnostic and repair tools.
