Symptoms of Registry corruption:

  • Limited access to hardware and software.

  • Frequent Blue screen errors. With Stop error codes.

    Eg: Stop: 0xcXXXXXXX {Registry File Failure}

    The registry cannot load the hive (file): < \SystemRoot\System32\File path> or its log or alternate. It is corrupt, absent, or not writable.

  • The system does not boot to Windows, the error messages may vary.

    Eg: missing or corrupt: \WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

    The registry corruption is introduced when the system is shut down. As the computer performs the unloading of the processes and drivers during shutdown, the registry is updated. During this process if the computer or a component stops before the writing is completed the registry is updated incorrectly. When the system is restarted the next time, it gives an error. Sometimes, it is difficult to find the actual cause of registry corruption.
