The following are the most basic steps performed:
Verify that the computer's CMOS settings are correct.
Run Scandisk / Defrag.
Remove any software that was running before the protection error.
Remove and reinstall the program that caused the error (If known).
Disable power management and screen savers.
Remove any client software's installed to support multiple operating systems.
If the errors are intermittent and reoccurring Repair or Reinstall Windows.
If the issue persists even after operating system reinstallation. Run any Diagnostics provided by the hardware manufacturer.
