Windows Protection Error

Windows Protection Errors is an error message given by the operating system when it has trouble performing a specific task. The error can be caused due to many different causes, including:

  • Virtual driver problems

  • Conflicts between real-mode and protected-mode drivers.

  • Physical input/output (I/O) address conflict.

  • Incorrect CMOS settings (such as cache settings, CPU timing, hard disks) including a malfunctioning cache.

  • A damaged Registry or WIN.COM or COMMAND.COM file.
