Device drivers are installed in the final phase of the installation of operating system. The plug and play feature of the operating system will detect the devices attached to the system and will install the necessary device drivers for the device. If it does not find the device driver in its list, it will ignore installation of that particular device and will place a yellow exclamation mark against the device in the device manager. It then proceeds installing the other devices.
