File System

There are three types of file systems that we use when installing Windows 2000 operating system. These are FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS. For Windows 3.x, 95 and 98 we go with FAT16 or FAT32. NTFS is used by Windows NT, 2000 and XP.

NTFS: NTFS is the recommended file system for use with Windows 2000 as it has all the capabilities of FAT and has more advantages. Some of the advantages are as follows:
