Windows XP:
Steps to create the boot floppy are as follows:
Place floppy disk in the computer.
Open My Computer and right click the floppy drive and click on format.
In the format window check create an MS-DOS startup disk.
Click Start.
Note: With Windows XP Microsoft has begun phasing out Floppy drive usage and is promoting CD based boot disk. You can go to the Microsoft's web site and download the CD version of the boot disk.
