Windows NT:

The steps for creating the boot disk in NT are as follows:

  1. Insert the Windows NT CD in the CDROM.

  2. You need to access the i386 folder located in the Windows NT directory.

  3. Insert a formatted floppy disk in the floppy drive.

  4. Copy the boot.ini, ntdetect.com and NTLDR files from the i386 folder to the floppy disk.

Windows 2000:

  1. To create a Windows 2000 bootable disk you will need 4 formatted floppy disks and a 2000 CD.

  2. Place the 2000 CD in the drive.

  3. Browse the CD drive and locate the boot disk folder and double click makeboot.exe and click OK to launch the program to create the disk.
