At the MS-DOS prompt type FDISK and press the enter key.
You will then be asked to choose 'Y' or 'N' for large disk support. If you select 'N' it means 'no', then you will be limited to FAT16 with a partition size of 2 GB. If you select 'Y' for large disk support then you will have FAT32 that does not have such limitations.
In the next screen you will have a menu displayed with number of choices. If you have a new hard disk then select option 1 for creating a primary partition or select 3 if you have a used hard disk for deleting the partition.
If you select 1 then on the next screen select 1 for primary boot partition.
On the next screen specify the size of the partition or give the % of the disk space you want to use for Primary drive. If you want only one partition then give 100% disk space else you need to create extended partitions and logical partitions.
