Windows automatically starts Safe Mode if it detects that system startup failed, or if the registry is corrupted.
Safe Mode bypasses startup files, System registry, Config.sys, Autoexec.bat, and the [Boot] and [386Enh] sections of System.ini and provides you with access to the Windows configuration files. You can make any necessary configuration changes, and then restart Windows normally.
In safe mode only mouse keyboard and VGA drivers are loaded.
Safe mode is available in all Windows operating systems except Windows 3.x
Windows 95:
You can get into the safe mode by pressing the F8 key as soon as the computer starts up or you see starting Windows 95 message on the screen. You will see a menu. Enter choice 3 and press enter key.
