Click on the image to zoom

A startup disk is a very good tool in case you have a problem starting up the computer. You can boot the computer from a startup disk and try to fix what is actually causing the boot problem. The startup disk is created during the operating system installation. You can also install it when ever you want it. The files contained in the startup disk are not same for all the operating systems. Each operating system has some new files in the startup disk.

Let us see how the files differ in each operating system.

Windows 95:

The following files are copied on to the Windows 95 Startup Disk

  • attrib.exe - This provides a file attribute utility

  • command.com - This is a Core operating system file
