File Types

Text Files: Text files refer to strict ASCII. You do not need any special software to view them. Text files will have an extension of .txt by default.

Binary Files: Binary files could be practically anything. All files on a computer are binary in the strictest sense. Binary can be compiled executable code, object code or libraries, images, media such as audio or video, ZIP archives.
