All the logical drives are contained in the extended partition. You will be prompted to create a logical drive while you create the extended partition. There is no limit on the number of logical partitions you can create.
Here are the steps to create the logical drive:
Launch the FDISK utility.
Select option 1 on the first screen.
Select option 2 on the second screen.
Define the disk space.
You will get a warning stating that no logical drive is defined, so you must create a logical drive.
On the next screen where you are asked to create the logical drive you can either specify the disk percentage or size of the partition.
After you make this choice FDISK examines the disk and creates the logical drive and allots a drive name, example D, E etc.
Then FDISK will take you back to the screen where you created the logical drive and you can choose to make more logical drives or say no and exit FDISK.
Note: You must format all the logical drives before you can use them.
