Entries in the registry keys:

The data that can be contained in a registry key or sub key is called as entries. Some entries store specific user information, while others store information of all the users of a computer. Each entry has 3 parts:

  1. the name of the value,

  2. the data type of the value, and

  3. the value itself

How Registry can be backed up and restored?

Windows 95:

Microsoft included a utility: Configuration Backup program, cfgback.exe. This utility allows creating up to nine different backup copies of the Registry, which it stores, with the extension RBK, in the \Windows directory. If your system is set up for multiple users, cfgback.exe won't back up the user.dat file.
